From here, North Iceland opens up by water first: start with a jetski run from Ólafsvík, letting you reach wilder corners of the fjord-carved coastline that are difficult to access from land.

Grimsey + Básavík: Puffins, Kelp Forests, and Arctic-Edge Adventure
Next, venture out to Grimsey, a remote island off Iceland’s north coast that straddles the Arctic Circle. You’ll anchor in the secluded sandstone cove of Básavík and take to the water with an expert marine guide—watching puffins dive from the cliffs and feeling that rare sense of being “out there,” together, with nothing but sea and sky around you.
Myvatn Inland: Lofthellir cave, Volcanic Landmarks, and Thermal Recovery
On land, the pace shifts into otherworldly terrain as you travel through Myvatn toward Lofthellir cave. Passing beneath Hverfjall volcano and along Lúdentarborgir crater row, you’ll trade the vehicle for hiking boots to cross lava fields and reach a cave world preserved by geothermal energy.
