Alberta & British Columbia for Two: A Rockies-to-Pacific Road Trip (12 Nights)

A westward journey built for two: glacier lakes and castle hotels, pine forests and mountain lodges, then chic city rhythms and wild Pacific shores. Drive the Rockies, share sunrise views, and trade zip-lines and river days for evenings by the fire. It’s Canada’s great road movie—told as a honeymoon.

How long: 12 nights (ideal length)
When: May–October (prime road-trip window)
Price: From $9,542 per person, excluding international flights (based on 2 sharing; includes accommodation, experiences, guiding and transfers)

Route & Rhythm

Calgary → Lake Louise (Banff National Park)
Pick up your luxury SUV and roll west into the Rockies. Your first stop is the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, a grand lakeside icon ringed by pines and glacier-fed blues. Settle in, then slow the pace with a horseback ride through alpine scenery before following the Icefields Parkway north.

Icefields Parkway → Jasper
Cross the Saskatchewan River beneath soaring peaks to Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Choose easy hikes to tranquil lakes or linger at the spa—rustic-luxe cabins and wide horizons set the tone.

Jasper → Sun Peaks (Thompson Okanagan)
Make the scenic drive toward British Columbia with a one-night stop in Sun Peaks, a mountain pause that breaks the journey beautifully.

Sun Peaks → Whistler
Check into Four Seasons Resort Whistler. Balance adrenaline and ease: zip-trek through old-growth canopy, hike high-country trails, paddle a guided canoe route, and (for a final morning) run whitewater on the Cheakamus River.

Whistler → Vancouver
Cruise down the Sea-to-Sky to Fairmont Pacific Rim and explore the city by bike: historic Gastown, Granville Island’s food halls, and the leafy loops of Stanley Park. Harbour views, design-forward spaces and easy evenings complete the city interlude.

Vancouver → Vancouver Island (Tofino)
For the last three nights, cross the strait to Wickaninnish Inn, perched above the Pacific. Join an expert guide to track grizzly bears along shore and forest at low tide; then take a zodiac to scan for whales—grey, humpback and orca—all frequent these waters. A wild, restorative finale before the drive back.
