Isaan: Loei & Phu Kradueng National Park — Thailand, Wild and Elevated
An early start brings a short flight to Loei, and suddenly Thailand feels different: more mountainous, more local, more unfiltered.
From here, your honeymoon leans into nature with a trek into Phu Kradueng National Park—a 5.5km climb up the mountain’s southeastern flank, followed by a gentler walk across the plateau toward camp. Expect rainforest edges, open pine savanna, and wide views that make everything feel spacious again.
Over the following days, explore the plateau’s trails—cliffs, waterfalls, streams, and lookout points—then rise early for a sunrise over a “sea of clouds.” Evenings are for stillness, and one standout moment: sunset at Mak Dook Cliff, best enjoyed with something chilled in hand and nowhere else to be.
